Because of nature’s inner intelligence, Ayurveda recommends local, fresh, seasonal, and organic products. Therefore, the recipes respect each time of the year and promote good digestion and absorption for each season.
All the ingredients are included.
At the end of our meeting, I’ll send you the recipes by email.
Vagbhata explains that Kapha, accumulated at the end of the Late Winter season, is aggravated in Spring. It happens because when Kapha is exposed to intense sun rays, it melts, overflows, and travels throughout the body, tending to produce disease by lodging in weak tissues.
The Kapha liquefaction diminishes the digestive fire (Agni), making it sluggish. It gives rise to many diseases such as asthma, indigestion, cold, and cough.
Therefore, we should avoid consuming foods that are difficult to digest, with cold and unctuous qualities, and sour and sweet tastes because these food qualities tend to increase the Kapha we need to mitigate.
The menu was planned to relieve the seasonal qualities that are present now in South Carolina, such as temperature variation, high humidity, and weight sensation (which can be perceived by laziness, mucus, or indigestion).
Respecting nature movement promotes immunity, a strong body, and a resilient mind. Spring health depends on the choices we make now.
